Prospective Graduate Students
Students interested in engaging in the child-focused research within the Center are accepted into the clinical psychology doctoral program each year. Students who are interested in applying to work with Dr. Evans and/or Dr. Owens are encouraged to explore the information on the Center website and on each faculty member’s home page (click here for Dr. Owens; click here for Dr. Evans). Additional information may also be found at the psychology graduate program home page. The application deadline is December 1st each year. We look forward to reviewing your application.

Prospective Undergraduate Students
Each quarter, there may be opportunities for undergraduate students to enroll in Psy 390 credit and participate in research activities within the Center. Research assistants in CIRS typically engage in the following activities: participation in research meetings, data collection procedures with parents, youth, and teachers, data entry, data management, data coding, and structured observations of classrooms. Research assistants can also seize the opporutnity to present research at conferences and contribute to the publication of journal articles.

Interested students should send an email to Dr. Owens (owensj@ohio.edu) expressing their interest in a 390 position. Attached to that email, students should submit a cover letter indicating why they are interested in a research assistant position, and a resume or vita including contact information, current grade point average, past research, service, or volunteer experience, and courses completed. Because our projects often span the entire academic year, students are often asked to commit to completing two quarters of 390 coursework. We look foward to hearing from you.
