Facts

  • Approximately,10-15% of youth in our nation experience behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Unfortunately, less than 20% of these children receive the services they need.
  • We can enhance access to needed treatment by integrating behavioral support services into schools.

Philosophy

  • The Y.E.S.S. Program is a collaborative effort among educators, parents, university personnel, mental health professionals, and health providers. It is this collaboration that brings the greatest benefit to our children.
  • All children and families should have access to evidence-based services.
  • We empower parents to develop healthy relationships with their children and to adopt effective discipline strategies for addressing their child’s challenging behavior.
  • With on-going support and professional consultation from trained program facilitators, teachers are prepared to meet the individual needs of all students in the classroom.
  • Quality interdisciplinary training experiences best prepare graduate students for professional practice.
  • Ongoing research efforts allow us to continually improve the program and obtain sustained funding.
